With the increase in gastrointestinal (stomach bug) and respiratory incidence in the community, Midwest Medical Center has implemented temporary visitor restrictions to help control the spread of illness and protect our patients.

Midwest Medical Center (In-Patient / Hospital)

  • Please limit visitors to two or fewer, 18 years of age and older.
  • Limit movement through the facility.
  • Refrain from visiting if you are experiencing any gastrointestinal or respiratory symptoms.
  • Practice hand hygiene and respiratory hygiene/cough etiquette.
  • Follow nursing instruction for use of personal protection (gloves, mask, etc.) if visiting patients in isolation.
  • Exemptions may apply in compassionate care and end-of-life situations.

Midwest Senior Care Community (Nursing Home)

  • Midwest Senior Care Nursing Home is currently experiencing a Norovirus (“stomach bug”) outbreak at our facility.
  • Please refrain from visiting if you are experiencing gastrointestinal or respiratory symptoms or have cared for someone with these symptoms (within the last 48 hours).
  • Please do not visit at this time If the resident that you are visiting is actively ill.
  • Please limit visitors to two or fewer, 18 years of age and older.
  • Follow nursing instruction for use of personal protection (gloves, mask, etc.) if visiting patients in isolation.
  • Exemptions may apply in compassionate care and end-of-life situations.

Midwest Senior Care Community (Assisted Living)

As of December 24, Assisted Living is open and tenants are not experiencing gastrointestinal or respiratory symptoms. Please use care if coming to visit and refer to preventive hygiene measures “What You Can Do to Help” listed below.

Midwest Medical Center would like to offer these simple suggestions to help mitigate your risk and keep your families safe.

What You Can Do to Help:

  • Practice frequent handwashing with soap and water. This simple step is highly effective at reducing the spread of Norovirus, Influenza, RSV, and other seasonal illnesses. Alcohol-based sanitizers are less effective options.
  • Stay home if you don’t feel well or have been exposed to someone with gastrointestinal or respiratory illness.
  • Stay informed about symptoms and seek medical care if needed.
